Reposessed Boats
Often reposessed boats or yachts are offered for
sale by Government auctions, lien sales, or sealed bids for
a variety of reasons. Surveys, inspections and sea trials
are limited by time constraints.
To
overcome this handicap, a surveyor must have a broad knowledge of
marine disciplines such as ultrasonic
testing of steel and aluminum hulls, wood boat construction, and
in many cases salvage costs
may have to be factored in. The following should also be
considered: transport costs,
relocation costs, insurance costs, and hauling out costs. Tentative hauling and mooring
arrangements
should be made for the reposessed boat or yacht, as it should be
relocated as soon as
possible.

related marine facilities are extensive. We can assist you in making a difficult decision and
